DIEHLSTADT, Mo. -- As of Tuesday evening, Leother Branch, Scott County conservation agent, was trying to find and remove a large python reportedly under a Diehlstadt home, the Sikeston Standard Democrat reported. Branch said dangerous animals and reptiles are supposed to be registered with the county. He said the snake is not a pet of the people who live in the home.

"They suspect somebody moved out and didn't want to take the python so released him," he said. "We are trying to do everything we can do get that thing removed."
