PWP announces the month's events

Parents Without Partners August calendar:

• Line dance lessons from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 at Silver Saddles Country and Western Club, 330 S. Kingshighway, Cape Girardeau. Open to the public. There is a cost. Call 335-0797 for more information, or e-mail: capesemopwp@yahoo.com.

* From 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 4, general meeting/orientation at Riverside Regional Library on Union and Adams streets. A program titled "Cooking Tricks" will be presented by Louise Wallace. The meeting is free and open to the public.

* Aug. 5, an Amigo dinner and family activity event to welcome new members. Cost is a covered dish.

* At 4 p.m. Aug. 6, a family activity at Pizza Inn in Cape Girardeau for dinner followed by back-to-school shopping.

* From 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 11, "Card Mania," an evening of cards and other games at Riverside Regional Library in Jackson. The event is free and open to the public.

* From 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 18, PWP board/orientation meeting at Riverside Regional Library in Jackson. The event is free and open to the public.

* From 8 p.m. to midnight Aug. 19, a singles dance sponsored by PWP will be held at the VFW Hall in Cape Girardeau. The event is open to the public. The theme is Hawaiian Luau with music by "Let's Dance." Discounted price for members.

* At 5:30 p.m. Aug. 25, a parent activity. Meet and eat at Texas Roadhouse and attend a movie after dinner.
