WAYNE COUNTY, Mo. -- A Puxico, Missouri, woman who was hospitalized after a wreck in Wayne County late Saturday night faces a number of charges, including felony assault, the Daily Statesman reported. Krystal S. Lintermoot, 26, was driving north on Route D just north of County Road 521 when her vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet Impala, crossed the center line and collided with a southbound vehicle, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Lintermoot sustained serious injuries and was airlifted from the scene to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. The driver of the second vehicle, Stephen W. Winingnear, and his passenger, Gretchen R. Winingnear, both of Wappapello, Missouri, sustained moderate injuries. They were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Their 2006 Ford Taurus was a total loss, as was Lintermoot's car. Lintermoot later was charged with two counts of second-degree felony assault, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, expired insurance and no seat belt. None of the injured parties was wearing their seat belts, the report said.
