JEFFERSON CITY -- Owning a pond can be rewarding, but it also can raise a lot of questions.
How many bass should you let friends keep? Do you have too much algae or other vegetation? Would stocking grass carp help keep plants in balance?
The Missouri Department of Conservation has publications for pond owners. One of them, a 10-pamphlet Aqua-guide series, addresses topics such as the use of grass carp to control aquatic vegetation, fathead minnows, stockpiled bass, providing cover for fish and controlling cattails.
