The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday to discuss upcoming improvements to the Route V bridge over Big Indian Creek in Cape Girardeau County.

The meeting will be held at North Elementary School in Jackson. It will have an open-house format, allowing visitors to talk one-on-one with a member of the project team. No formal presentation will be given.

The project will include replacing the deck of the Route V bridge, about 0.5 miles south of Highway 177. Work is anticipated to begin in spring 2013, with completion that fall.
