The purpose of the meeting, which will begin at 6 p.m., is to gain community input on how or whether to proceed on the project.

The River Campus, which would be located at the site of the former St. Vincent's Seminary on Morgan Oak Street, is a joint project of the city and Southeast Missouri State University.

Representative from both the city and the university will be on hand to discuss the available options and to answer questions.

The River Campus would house a visual and performing arts center.

Earlier this month, city voters approved a tax measure to pay for the city's share of the project, but defeated the bond issue, which would have provided the funding mechanism.
