St. Francis Medical Center and Southeast Missouri Hospital, in cooperation with Cape Girardeau Urology Associates, will sponsor a free prostate screening program Saturday, Sept. 16, as part of Prostate Cancer Awareness Week.
This is the sixth consecutive year that Cape Girardeau has participated in the national program. Cape Girardeau is one of 800 sites around the country to offer the screenings.
The screening will be held at Southeast's Regional Cancer Center. Screening hours will be 8 to noon.
The screening is available to men older than 50 as well as those older than 40 with a family history of prostate cancer, which is the second leading cause of cancer death among men.
Appointments are necessary. To schedule an appointment, call 651-5550, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
