Cape Giradeau County Prosecuting Attorney Morley Swingle announced today that he has charged the driver in a Feb. 2 wreck that killed a 7-year-old Jackson girl.Victoria L. Dacus, 28, was charged with speeding and failing to secure herself, 7-year-old Haley Dacus and Haley's siblings with a seatbelt. Haley Dacus was killed when the minivan driven by Victoria Dacus — Haley's mother — slammed into the back of a Hummer parked on the roadside during afternoon rush hour traffic on Highway 74.Haley Dacus died as a result of extensive head injuries and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
