The Cape Girardeau Jaycees are collecting Christmas toys and gifts to be delivered to the city's needy children and elderly. Donations are accepted at the Southeast Missourian offices and other locations around town. Monetary donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 4; Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63702-0004.
Toybox: A mother with children ages 10, 8, 5 and 2 is seeking help. Her daughters want Barbie dolls, hair wraps, perfume and nail polish. The 5-year-old and 2-year-old boys both like Spider-Man and the Incredible Hulk. The younger boy also likes musical toys.
Christmas for the Elderly: Mrs. B is a 71-year-old senior living alone in a old farmhouse. With little income, she often goes without some necessary things. She would like some gift certificates to discount stores, flannel sheets for a twin size bed, house slippers in size 8 and some pet food for her cockatiels and cats.
