PROFESSOR FROM UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY TO LECTURE ABOUT AUSTRALIAN LITERATURE

Brian Kiernan, associate professor in the Department of English at the University of Sydney, will speak Dec. 1 on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

Kiernan's presentation is titled "Sydney or the Bush: The Olympics 2000 City in Australian Literature." Kiernan has written and edited 10 books, most of them on Australian literature, and he has lectured on the subject all over the world. The presentation is sponsored by the Department of English and by the North American Speakers Series of the Australian Education Office. He will speak at 7:30 p.m. in Crisp Hall Room 125. The public is invited.
