Procter & Gamble Paper Products Co. has sent 60 truck-trailer loads of products into the hurricane-torn areas of Florida.
"Six truck loads of disposable diapers Pampers and Luvs were sent from the Cape Girardeau plant," said Larry Stahlman of the local plant's information office.
The local plant, about 15 miles north of Cape Girardeau, manufactures Pampers and Luvs.
Included in the inventory of products sent were fruit juices, coffee, bottled water, laundry and cleaning supplies, and snack products.
"The company checked with the American Red Cross for a list of needed items," said Stahlman. "Many of the products were sent from the Albany, Ga., facility."
Stahlman said the company sent:
11 loads of Pampers, Luvs and paper products.
13 loads of Citrus Hill and Sunny Delight fruit juices.
5 loads of Folgers coffee.
2 loads of bottled water.
3 loads of Safeguard, Zest and Ivory liquids.
20 loads of laundry and cleaning products.
2 loads of Duncan Hines cookies.
2 loads of Festiva snacks.
2 loads of Jiff peanut butter.
Crest toothpaste and 40,000 tooth brushes.
