ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) -- A Catholic priest from St. Charles County is facing charges of second-degree assault and driving while intoxicated following an accident in St. Louis County.

Prosecutors say the Rev. John Brockland ran a red light and hit another car last month, leaving the other driver with a fractured clavicle, ribs and pelvis.

Authorities say Brockland failed a field sobriety test. Brockland was not in custody as of midday Wednesday and police issued an arrest warrant.
