More than 750 Cape Girardeau County customers of Ameren Missouri briefly were without power Tuesday afternoon. According to an Ameren spokesperson, a line went down at 2:38 p.m., and electricity was restored to all customers by 3:07 p.m. The outage affected the Southeast Missourian's printing plant on William Street east of Sprigg Street and other customers in surrounding blocks. The outage caused some stoplights to lose power, but Cape Girardeau Police Department spokesman Jason Selzer said the lights also were working again within about 30 minutes. The Ameren spokesperson said an exact cause had not been determined.
