NORMAL, Ill. -- Southeast Missouri State's gymnastics team opened its season Saturday with a road dual victory over Illinois State 187.225 to 185.3.

Sophomore Brystol Powelski tied for first in the all-around after placing first in the vault and second in the bars. Powelski was a part of Southeast's 1-2-3 finish in the vault.

Tara Boldt, a junior, finished second in the vault, second in the beam (9.45), third in the floor (9.625) and tied with Powelski for first in the all-around (37.750).

Senior Katie Bloom finished third in the beam and took second in the all-around. Southeast also had two strong performances from its freshmen class, with Jennifer Kaye finishing third in the vault and Mindi Lineweber winning the bars (9.55).
