VIENNA, Ill. -- Findings of the Southern Illinois Poverty Conference that met in May will be discussed here Friday at a Poverty Summit.

The panel is made up of East Cape Girardeau Mayor Joe Aden, Johnson County commissioner Max Ray, state Rep. Mike Bost and U.S. Rep. Glen Poshard.

The summit is designed for federal, state and local officials as well as service providers and representatives of advocacy groups, religious organizations, educators, civic leaders and others interested in solutions for Southern Illinois problems.

Reports to be discussed are health, transportation, economic development, public aid, elderly poor, support services, law enforcement and education.
