PORT AUTHORITY WELCOMES TWO NEW MEMBERS FOR NEW YEAR

SCOTT CITY - When the Southeast Missouri Regional Port Authority convenes its first board meeting of 1994 Monday afternoon, it will have two new members.

The Cape Girardeau County Commission voted Thursday to appoint Joe Gambill of Cape Girardeau, who recently retired as plant manager at Biokyowa, to replace Jim Limbaugh as a port commissioner.

Limbaugh asked to be replaced on the board. Gambill will serve out the remainder of his term that expires in December of 1995.

The Scott County Commission has named Chap Arnold, a Scott City insurance agent, to the at-large two-year term on the board. Arnold will replace Ray Buhs of Cape Girardeau, who had been serving in the at-large post during the time it shifted to Cape County.

Buhs had also previously served on the board from 1984-86.

Two other commissioners were re-appointed to new four year terms by their respective county commissions. Bill Bess of Sikeston, was named to a new term to represent Scott County, while Irvin Garms of Cape Girardeau, was appointed to a new term from Cape County.

Under port by-laws, there are four commissioners from each county, serving staggered four year terms. A ninth, at large position, rotates between the counties every two years.
