CAIRO, Ill. -- The Mods are returning to Cairo.
The Mods, a popular 1960s band in Southern Illinois, will regroup for a "60s Reunion Dance" performance to be held at the National Guard Armory here tonight.
Cost of tickets for the performance are $10 each, with proceeds to benefit the Cairo Custom House restoration project.
Members of the band regrouping for the 8 p.m. gig include John Steinhouse, Kyle Lehning, Neal Needham, Don Dickerson, and Randy, Wilmetta and Starr Wimberly.
Lehning, of Nashville, Tenn.,, and executive vice president and general manager of Elektra Asylum Records, has remained in the music field.
Lehning first went to Nashville in 1971, and has served as a record producer for Randy Travis and George Jones. He has also engineered albums for Kenny Rogers, Dr. Hook, and Ronnie Milsap, among others.
The doors open at 7 p.m. at the Cairo Armory, with music to start at 8 p.m.
