POPLAR BLUFF -- A Poplar Bluff woman was killed early Wednesday the car she was driving struck a tree about one-half mile south of the city.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reported that Tonoa Ursery, 25, was killed when the 1979 Chevrolet she was driving on Ashcroft Road apparently crossed a "T" intersection, struck a tree and overturned into the Black River.
The Highway Patrol spokesman said the exact time of the accident was unknown, but it was believed to have occurred at around 2 a.m.
The accident wasn't discovered until 10 a.m. Wednesday, he said.
