Poplar Bluff woman, daughter killed in fire

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Autopsies were set to be performed Tuesday in Farmington, Mo., on the bodies of a Poplar Bluff woman and her daughter who died in a weekend house fire.

Lisa Pulliam, 44, and her 23-year-old daughter, Maerene Lucille Pulliam, were found inside the charred remains of their mobile home in the 100 block of County Road 311 by Butler County firefighters, according to Butler County deputy coroner Jim Akers.

Autopsies, Akers said, were to be performed on the Pulliams by Dr. Russell Deidiker at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington.

The Butler County Fire Department was notified of the mobile home fire at 6:25 a.m. Sunday.

Three other people -- Charles and Bertha Hodge and Bobby Trusty -- also were in the mobile home at the time of the fire.

"They went to the hospital for smoke inhalation and have since been released," said Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs.
