POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- A hearing on the possible termination of high school teacher Tim Slayton, accused of sexual misconduct, will be held before the Poplar Bluff School District at noon Jan. 14.
The open meeting will be held in the board of education room at the district's headquarters, 1110 N. Westwood.
The board is seeking information before it makes a decision whether to terminate Slayton's contract.
Slayton is a tenured teacher at Poplar Bluff High School, and has been placed on administrative leave.
The board can also decide whether to petition the State Board of Education to terminate Slayton's teaching license.
Superintendent Randy Winston said if Slayton chose to quit prior to the hearing, the board can still petition the state to terminate his license.
