Some results from polls released Saturday. The Time/CNN poll of 1,044 adults was taken Friday and has an error margin of 3 percentage points. The Newsweek poll of 1,004 adults was taken Thursday and Friday and has an error margin of 3 percentage points.
ANTHRAX: Fewer than half of the respondents to both polls believed the anthrax cases reported last week were acts of terrorism. Knowing the possible side effects, half of those polled by Time/CNN said they would not take a vaccine for anthrax if it was available.
BIN LADEN: Three out of five people polled by Time/CNN said Osama bin Laden must be captured or killed for the United States to declare victory in Af-ghanistan.
Almost half of those polled by Newsweek said capturing or killing bin Laden would make him a martyr and inspire future acts of terrorism.
THE LONG HAUL: Three out of four respondents told Newsweek they expect U.S. military action against terrorists to last at least several years.
