The Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad identified a person of interest in the Willie Brown Jr. homicide investigation who is cooperating.
According to a Facebook post Friday evening by the Cape Girardeau Police Department, Deautryus G’Tavis Curry of Cape Girardeau came to the police station Friday and was speaking to investigators. The Major Case Squad reported Curry might have information about Brown’s killing.
Brown, 31, of Cape Girardeau was shot several times about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of South Hanover Street in Cape Girardeau. He died of his injuries about 3:30 a.m. Thursday at Saint Francis Medical Center.
The major case squad is offering an award up to $5,000 for information leading to arrest or conviction related to Brown’s shooting.
