ST. LOUIS -- Drivers on interstates 44 and 70 throughout Missouri better buckle up, slow down and stay sober this weekend.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Thursday it is joining with other agencies in cracking down on violators this weekend.
The patrol said motorists can expect heightened enforcement Friday through Sunday.
Law enforcement agencies across Missouri said they are cracking down on unbuckled, speeding and impaired drivers.
The patrol's Col. James F. Keathley credited traffic enforcement programs like this weekend's with reducing the number of fatal traffic crashes in recent years in Missouri.
