A Cape Girardeau man kicked down his roommate’s bedroom door, held a shotgun to her head and told her to get out of the house, police said.

Cape Girardeau police arrested Everett Phillip Way II on Tuesday, and the Cape Girardeau County prosecuting attorney’s office charged him with unlawful use of a weapon.

Way’s bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety.

A police officer went about 3:30 a.m. on Centennial Drive for a report of an assault with a weapon, according to a probable-cause statement filed by the officer. The officer met with a woman who said she left the residence she shared with Way when he pointed a shotgun to her head, the officer wrote.
