More than 10 shots were fired early Friday morning during an altercation at a Cape Girardeau bar, injuring at least one

person.

At about 12:20 a.m. Friday, police responded to a report of shots fired at Club Envy, formerly known as the Phat Cat, at 731 Broadway.

When police arrived there was a large group of people gathered in front of the building, including a 16-year-old from Cape Girardeau who had been struck in the left hand by a bullet, said Darin Hickey, public information officer. The victim was transported to a

hospital.

Police are uncertain if the teen was ever inside the bar, but he was outside at the time he was shot, Hickey said.

Witnesses told police the shooting started inside the business and then continued outside. A window was shot out at 721 Broadway and the window of a vehicle parked in the area was also shot, Hickey said. Based on evidence collected, police believe there were two guns used. It isn't clear at this time if there were two gunmen, or if the same person used two guns, Hickey

said.

Police have not yet identified any suspects, and Hickey said the investigation is ongoing.
