Police Investigate Fatal Crash in Alexander County

Alexander County-The Illinois State Police continue to investigat a single car wreck that occurred during the early morning hours Friday, leaving one dead.

The vehicle, a 1998 Lincoln, was traveling southbound on Illinois State Route 3, approximately two miles south of Illinois Route 127, according to a news release from the Illinois State police. The Lincoln crossed the northbound lane and left the roadway, striking an embankment and several trees.

The driver, Robert A. McMillan, 32, of Thebes, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene by Alexander County Coroner Harold McNelly.
