Police are investigating a reported assault and robbery on Locust Street.
A man called the Cape Girardeau Police Department about 11:30 p.m. Thursday to report two masked men had assaulted him in his yard in the 1000 block of Locust Street, restrained him and his family, hit him and stole an Xbox, Sgt. Jason Selzer said in an email to the Southeast Missourian.
The victim told police he rode his scooter home, where he found the two men in his yard, Selzer said.
The victim said the two men took him into his home, restrained him and his wife with zip ties, and put his children, ages 3 and 6, in a room, Selzer said.
The victim told police he believed he had been hit in the head with a gun at one point before the two men took his Xbox and fled on foot, Selzer said.
He said the victim had minor injuries but refused medical treatment.
Police are investigating, but Selzer said no one was in custody Friday evening.
Anyone with information about the assault should call the Cape Girardeau Police Department at 335-6621.
