Cape Girardeau police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Planet SEMO apartment complex parking lot on Themis Street just west of Fountain Street.
The 20-year-old man told police he was approached by two men in the parking lot, said Cpl. Zeb Williams. One of the men pulled a gun and demanded money. The victim took off running and injured his hand going over a fence, Williams said. Police met him at SEMO Video, 501 Broadway, after he telephoned them from there, Williams said.
A dollar amount of the theft was not disclosed by police.
The victim declined to speak with the Southeast Missourian or to give his name. Later reports that police had apprehended one of the suspects could not be confirmed by police at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
