A man wearing a bandanna over his face and carrying a 2x4 robbed Chocolate Works in Cape Girardeau on Thursday night, police said.
The man entered the business about 6:45 p.m. and demanded money, according to Cape Girardeau Police Sgt. Adam Glueck.
Employees, who were the only people inside the store, gave the man money, and he fled from the business, Glueck said.
The amount of money stolen has not been released. No one was injured, Glueck said.
A Chocolate Works employee said the store has surveillance footage of the robbery, and police are using it to investigate the crime.
Police have released a photo from the footage showing the man wearing a red ski cap with a tan baseball cap over it, glasses and a blue bandanna on his face. He is described a white male between the ages of 50 and 60, about 5-foot-9 and about 150 pounds. The description also said he has a high voice.
