Less, than 12 hours before a fatal Friday morning shooting in Cape Girardeau, police were called to the same address because of a report of property damage.

An altercation occurred between the victim and people that came to the residence, but police have not yet determined whether the two incidents are connected.

Some windows at the house were broken during the disturbance, said Cape Girardeau Police Sgt. Barry Hovis.

The Cape Girardeau County-Bollinger County Major Case Squad responded Friday morning to the scene of the deadly shooting at 1523 N. Spanish St., around 5:20 a.m., and found that a 20-year-old woman had been shot.
