Authorities have said that after Green's relatives called asking for intervention help for him Oct. 28, Green opened fire on responding officers but missed. Police said an officer returned fire but also missed, and Green ran away.

Police say officers lost sight of Green before they heard a gunshot and found Green unresponsive.

Green's parents have publicly questioned the police account of what happened to their son.
