The students will also visit Meramec Spring State Park in St. James, tour the Safety Education Center of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Office and the Churchill Memorial and Library at Westminster College in Fulton -- site of Churchill's famous "Iron Curtain" speech.

Pohlman is the daughter of Terry and Bonnie Pohlman of Oak Ridge. She is class treasurer, a member of Student Council, a cheerleader and volleyball player, as well as a member of National Honor Society, Science Club, FCCLA, Pep Club and SADD.

She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim and is a Sunday School assistant and member of the youth group. She is also a member of the Arnsberg 4-H Club and currently serves as vice president. She is also a member of Cape County Junior Leaders.

The trip promotes good citizenship. Students selected by the faculty must be in the upper one-fourth of their class scholastically and demonstrate high standards of honor, courage, citizenship and leadership, said Scope Club Chairman Barbara Popp.
