PLAYERS, AMERIHOST TO BUILD 120-ROOM MOTEL AT METROPOLIS

METROPOLIS, Ill. -- Players International Inc., owner of Players Riverboat Casino, and Amerihost Properties Inc., a developer and manager of hotels, have entered into a partnership to build a 120-room motel adjacent to the Players Riverboat Casino on the Ohio River here.

Players will contribute the land for the operation and will be a limited partner with about 12 to 15 percent interest, said Edward Fishman, chairman and chief executive officer of Players International.

Construction is expected to start soon.

The partnership also will build the shell of a theater, which will have more than 400 seats, next to the hotel. The theater will be leased by Players.

Players International is based in Calabasas, Calif. Amerihost is based in Des Plains, Ill.
