WYATT -- The Missouri Highway Patrol said the pilot and passenger of an experimental airdraft were injured late Friday afternoon, when the airplane, a Rand S-7, crashlanded at the Wyatt airport, in Mississippi County.
According to the patrol, the pilot, Oliver Kirkpatrick, 58, of rural Charleston and a passenger, Richard Plumlee, 62, of Charleston, were taken to the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston with moderate injuries.
Kirkpatrick told investigators he had just taken off and was about 70-80 feet in the air when the aircraft apparently ran into a wind shear.
