Butler County: A Pictorial History II is in the making and will be ready by Dec. 1, historian/author John Stanard told the Greater Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce Monday.
"There's good news, better news and best news," said Stanard. "The good news is there will be a second volume. The better news is that Commerce Bank has again agreed to sponsor the book, this time with $51,000. And the best news is that the book will be ready by early December."
Profits from the first book, Butler County: A Pictorial History -- $17,500 -- went to the chamber.
Stanard explained the new 192-page pictorial history will contain more than 300 photographs.
"It's larger and has more pictures than the first one does," said Stanard.
The price is $35.
