SCOTT CITY -- The Scott City Historic Preservation Commission is searching for pictures of former mayors to complete a collection displayed at City Hall.
A total of 58 people have served as mayor of the town and the towns of Illmo and Fornfelt before the towns consolidated. A two-year search has turned up photographs of 51 former mayors. All the photographs are on display in the City Hall council chambers.
The Historic Preservation Commission is asking for help to locate the remaining photos.
Pictures are needed of: Charles Hamm, John T. White, W.A. Merrill, Dr. C.B. McGee and J.E. Kinkaid. Each served a term as Fornfelt mayor between 1905 and 1927; and H.O. Murphy and J.P. Lightner, Illmo mayors between 1906 and 1912 are also needed.
Anyone with the photographs may contact Evelyn McClintock at 264-2982 or Jean Anne Goodman at 264-2405.
