CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Local free lance photographer Tom Neumeyer has been presented a framed copy of the new St. Francis County telephone book, which features a photograph he produced.
Southwestern Bell Telephone commissioned Neumeyer last year to photograph the First Congregational Church in Bonne Terre for the cover. He photographed the church in October to include the autumn colors on the surrounding foliage.
The photograph depicts the features of the European-style church, including the rounded windows and portals. Charles B. Parsons initiated construction of the church when he developed the mining industry in the area a century ago. Coming from Massachusetts, he resettled in Bonne Terre and became a leader in business and community matters.
Neumeyer writes and takes pictures for the Southeast Missourian. He and his wife, Terri, also operate a bed and breakfast.
