ULLIN, Ill. -- A 16-year-old girl from Perryville, Mo., was killed in an accident during an ice storm on Wednesday night, Illinois State Police reported.
Summer Kimmet was a passenger in a car driven by Lakota Amberger, 16, also of Perryville. The car was traveling south on Lick Creek Road south of Kraft Lane when the driver lost control of the car, which spun around, left the road and struck a utility pole.
Amberger was taken to Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill. Kimmet died at the scene.
Amberger was cited for speeding and reckless driving in the accident, police said.
