PERRYVILLE -- Despite an election in Perry County Tuesday, the Perryville school board still has a vacant seat.

Jeff Volkerding resigned from the board last week because he is moving out of the district. He was elected to a two-year term in 1998.

Three board members were elected Tuesday for three-year seats. They are Terry L. Miederhoff, Timothy Rhodes and Raymond J. Monier. Kim R. Moore, a former board member, had filed for the seat also.

School board President Dennis Martin said the board will follow its policy and ask interested residents to submit letters stating their qualifications for office.

The board will set a deadline for receiving the letters at its meeting Monday at 7:30 p.m.
