Perryville man pleads not guilty to rape, sodomy

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- A Perryville man plead not guilty Friday on charges of raping and sodomizing and 18-year-old girl at a local hotel.

Bobby Roberts, 57, was also granted a change of venue to Cape Girardeau County. He is scheduled to appear Nov. 7 in Jackson.

City police received a report Aug. 10 of a sexual assault at the Americas Best Value Inn on Liberty Street. An 18-year-old girl told police Roberts picked her up at her home in Belton, Mo., the day before, drove back to Perryville and rented a hotel room. She was reported missing Aug. 9. Roberts was arrested when he attempted to return to the hotel Aug. 11. He remains in custody on a $100,000 bond.
