Perry, Perryville traffic detour starts Monday

Contractors will begin road work on Perry Avenue and Perryville Road on Monday from Bertling Street to New Madrid Street.

Work will consist of concrete-slab repair and replacement and will last approximately three weeks, according to a news release from the city of Cape Girardeau. Until repairs are completed, northbound traffic will be detoured onto New Madrid Street to West End Boulevard, and then up West End Boulevard to Bertling Street for these six blocks. Drivers should use caution when traveling through the work zones and consider alternate routes.
