__What do you believe are the biggest issues facing the office of the treasurer and how do you propose to address them?:__
Currently I am not aware of any issues in the office of the treasurer. I do know our current treasurer, Veronica Hershey, has done an excellent and professional job for the last 24 years. When elected I will contact Veronica to ask for a schedule to obtain as much knowledge and job trainig as possible to ensure a smooth transition on January 1, 2015.
__How will you evaluate your performance in the office?:__
All office holders are required to complete 20 hours of classroom instruction each year. I am certain guidelines to evaluate our performance will be taught. I will perform my work in the same accurate, honest, dedicated, and loyal way I have demonstrated in my current and previous jobs. I will entertain input from fellow office holders, coworkers and citizens of Perry County. Ultimately the citizens will evaluate my performance four years from now.
__What do you believe can be done to keep the county fiscally stable?:__
We must all be very conservative and conscientious in our spending whether it be in the business environment or in our homes. The treasurer's responsibilities include keeping a watchful eye on all department spending while making sure each department stays within budget and informing them when a problem appears to be on the horizon.
__What makes you the best candidate for the position?:__
I have 35 years experience in accounting/bookkeeping, 11 years with Xerox Corporation and 24 years with Keller Motors. As Office/Accounting Manager I am entrusted to oversee all payable/receivable accounts including large amounts of cash and funds collected, along with preparing financial statements and month end closings. I successfully manage a line of credit to support a six million dollar vehicle inventory. My professional experience, education, and personal attributes make me an excellent choice for Treasurer.
