According to Sheriff Gary Schaaf, Perry County residents who leave on vacation may stop by the department and fill out a short House Check informational form. That form will let reserve officers know a vacationer's address and directions to their home, where the person is going and the names of trusted friends and family members who may be stopping by the check on the residence.

Then reserve officers will check on the residence from time to time while the homeowner is on vacation.
