PERRYVILLE -- The Auxiliary at Perry County Memorial Hospital has donated $10,000 to the hospital to be used for front lobby furnishings and the gift shop. PERRYVILLE -- The Auxiliary at Perry County Memorial Hospital has donated $10,000 to the hospital to be used for front lobby furnishings and the gift shop.

The Auxiliary also purchased 18 Emergency Response Units, or Medi-Mates. The units are for people who live alone and are handicapped or have a health problem. The units allow the person to alert the hospital of a problem by simply pressing a button.

The Auxiliary will pay the annual $300 fee for the units and $40 maintenance fee per unit per year, bringing the per-month cost to subscribers to $20.
