PERRYVILLE -- A public meeting to discuss the future of Perry County Memorial Hospital will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 98 Grand Ave., in Perryville.

Members of the Perry County Commission and the boards of trustees of the hospital and Perry County Nursing Home plan to be there to explain proposed changes in the way the hospital is run.

They also will get input from the public about the proposal, said Patrick Bira, administrator of the hospital.

The hospital board has been discussing a proposal to create a private not-for-profit corporation and turn over hospital operations to it.
