PEROT HEADQUARTERS OPENS HERE

Supporters of Ross Perot for president have opened a headquarters in Cape Girardeau at 1400 North Kingshighway.

Mike Ponder, chairman of the effort in the 8th congressional district to secure signatures to have Perot's name placed on the ballot as an independent candidate, announced the headquarters opening Wednesday.

Perot supporters in Missouri are close to having enough petitions to secure a ballot spot for the Texas billionaire.

The telephone number for the office is 335-3334.

On weekdays, the office is open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., except for Thursdays when it will remain open until 9 p.m. On Saturday it will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
