BERLIN -- George Clooney said he toed the line between fact and fiction while filming the life of TV producer and self-proclaimed CIA hit man Chuck Barris, but admitted to a few liberties in the depiction of his setting -- 1960s Berlin.

Clooney was in the German capital Monday to present his directorial debut, "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind."

"We decided to create this image of 1960s Germany as the Americans see it, so we put in every stereotype we had," Clooney said at a news conference. "Someone would say, 'That's more Vienna,' but we would use it anyway."
