PEOPLE AND THINGS: FENWICK NAMED EXCHANGE CLUB STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Derek Fenwick, 18, was Notre Dame High School's Exchange Club student of the month for December. He is the son of Steve and Nancy Fenwick of Cape Girardeau and ranks third of 79 in his senior class. Derek was his class president during his sophomore and junior years, and he served three years on the Student Council before serving as president this year. He is also president of the National Honor Society, and a longtime member of Students Against Driving Drunk, Future Business Leaders of America and the school musical crew. He also is a member of the School Peer Helpers group and the Projects Club. Derek is a scholar-athlete, having played varsity soccer and baseball. He plans to study physical therapy after high school.
