The Southeast Missourian asked people about their preference of two designs for next year's Elvis Presley postage stamp, the younger Elvis or the older version from Presley's Las Vegas days. The Postal Service is accepting postcards as ballots until April 24.
Doug Richards: "I would choose the more mature Elvis because that's the way I remember him. I did not grow up with his early career."
Greg Lincoln: "I would prefer the younger Elvis. He looks more like the "King of Rock and Roll" that early in his career."
Norm Tullis: "I would choose the older Elvis. It shows him later when he was more successful and we would remember him better."
Carolyn Sarff: "I would prefer the younger Elvis, because that's the way I remember him. I saw him perform about 1957 in Kansas City."
Mary Ellen Gerlach: "I would rather have the younger picture. I like the songs from his early years better than those he did later."
Brenda Glastetter: "I like the young version of Elvis because that's the way I remember him. I liked his movies like "Kissin' Cousins."
