The Southeast Missourian asked people how the autumn season was special to them.

Angela Baugher of Mclure, Ill.: "It's not hot is the fall and I can dress alittle warmer. I can be outside without swetting to death. I hate getting in and out of a hot car."

Saundra Rakin of Cape Girardeau: "I like the leaves changing, going for a walk in the woods. The change in my wardrobe. I'm sick of all my summer clothes. Enjoy the cooler weather before the frigid winds of winter."

Jackie Lloyd of Cape Girardeau: "My favorite thing about fall is the turning of the leaves and cool nights. My least favorite is that winter isn't far behind. Go out and pick apple, alittle past Jackson. He has the best apples in the world."

Sean Westbrook of Cape Girardeau: "Fall inspires you to have more fun. I love the fall. I play basketball and football. There's more time for shopping and I work more-it's busier where I work at the Pasta House."

Byron Wilkerson of Cape Girardeau: "I love fall. I can't stand the heat of summer. So the falls great. Heat draws all the energy from you, but in the cool weather you have more energy. I don't have to mow the yard."

Lance Watkins of Carbondale, Ill.: "It's my favorite time of year. The football games, hiking, and backpacking in the Ozarks. I like the Bears. Fall is serenity. I'm at peace. I especially remember being in the mountains with the changing leaves in Arkansas, when I managed a resort in the fall. It's always been a special time for me."
